The little boy becomes a billionaire
Viliam Slaminka illustrated first business comics about Ivo Lukacovič for Czech Forbes.
In this year’s January issue, we cooperated together with Czech Forbes on a very first business comics in Czech republic. The co-operation was even more exciting as the main hero was a czech billionaire Ivo Lukačovič, founder of seznam.sk (czech equivalent for google) and Windytv app for wind map and weather forecast.
The brief included a specific visualisation of aircraft Lockheed Electra 10A, that belonged to Czech businessman Jan Antonin Baťa and a Krasty dog, Seznam.cz ‘s mascot. Forbes chose Viliam Slaminka for this project, who has very typical visual identity. For him the brief was understandable and at the same time he got free hand for illustrations, which is always a great combination.
Viliam is experienced artist, who has worked on many projects with various clients. The best for him is, when client believes his abilities and he can independently creates. His work is mainly based on comics, movies and other areas of pop culture. When asked what is his favourite comics, he cannot choose one, every time he finds new treasures. But he read whole series of 100 Bullets, and he swears by Hellboy, Batman and Sin City by Miller, Blacksad, Berlin by Jason Lutes, Fins de siècle, Black Hole by Charles Burns and much more and even more alternative.
He likes to to play with his personal mythology, finding himself to be a superhero. The process of his work is constantly accompanied by a concept of ‘Play’. His works and projects are playful and look carefree, but they can surprise by undisguised brutality and interest in current social problems.
