Artist of the month Helena Perez Garcia
A message. That’s what an artist wants to present in an artwork. Her strong sense of art is not only visual, but her illustrations force us to think more about what we see. This time we would like to introduce you to Helena Perez Garcia a Spanish illustrator living in London and our artist of the month.
Helena always loved art, so for her studying Fine Arts was a natural decision. Her initial idea was to become a graphic designer, but on her last year at University she learned that she could also make a career as an illustrator. So now, Helena works as a graphic designer and illustrator.
Illustrator – Client –
Illustration
This triangle is the most important connection we look for in our company. Want to have better, colorful, valuable artwork in your hands? How do illustrators and clients improve the art-creating process? We have asked Helena Perez Garcia about what does she enjoy most about working with clients.
What do you enjoy most about working with clients?
“I really enjoy collaborating with a client, creating something that satisfies their needs and at the same time has been filtered through my personal expression.”
Somebody might think it is easy to work with a specific/real client. Somebody might think that it is not easy. The fact is that we are more likely to communicate with one person than with the whole agency or company and if, then we are again speaking with only one person. I’m only human, you’re only human and that leads us to communicate. Yes, you knew it. That is the key: Communication. You can talk about a story behind every illustration or sometimes clients let artists to have a “free hand” on their work.
When it finally comes to creating art Helena follows her shedule: She works with the deadline and plans her work according to it. She creates a shedule for delivering sketches and color proofs on time. After that Helena usually works with a concept as she wants her illustrations to have a conceptual level in addition to the aesthetic level. She communicates with clients during the whole time and that makes the process of creating art much more effective. This collaboration between an illustrator and a client creates our final result: illustration. An illustration that meets everyone’s expectations. And guess what? This process saves time, makes both an illustrator and a client feel more involved in the project and the quality of the product is naturally better.
